Very nice and peaceful place with kind hosts
Beautiful place to stay if you're looking for an out-of-the-way retreat. Host is helpful and has all the accommodations for a wonderful stay. I would recommend this place to all who seek peace and tranquillity.
When we stopped at the main house to pay our bill the next morning, we noticed their house was nice and warm. Gay said they ended up using their heater that night. How nice for you!
We arrived in the evening to find the house at 56 degrees. It was a cold, windy and rainy night. We called to the main house and I asked Gay where the heat control was. She said there was none. When I mentioned it was 56 degrees in the house, she said, "It's 56 degrees in ours too. We have a heater, but were not using it. Just take a hot shower, put extra sheets on the bed, wear your pajamas and keep each other warm."
The next morning, my wife took a hot shower. That was fine. But what was not fine, were all the hairs (including pubes, folks) on the bathroom floor and tub. This B&B owner did not clean the bathroom well, if at all. THIS IS NOT HOSPITALITY. All this for $128.12? UGH!!!
We will never be back at this B&B again!!!

WOW!!! You have a heater you're not using? How about offering it to your paying guests for the one night? The cottage has a wood stove, but no instructions on whether it can be used or where to find wood and matches. I wonder what the stove is for any way? Maybe they're taking this economic recession too seriously.

Wife and I booked for three-day weekend in January. We stayed in a suite, but got the chance to look at the cottage before we left. Both are wonderful. Clean, up-to-date, and a nice coffee cake, fruit, coffee, and juice for our breakfast every day.
Gay, the owner, always makes it worthwhile!

We found one source of heat. You got it...a hairdryer. So off to the bedroom (which smelled like mold), shut the door, and turn it on. It worked well enough, until we turned it off to sleep. Then the heat dissipated. Furthermore, with the house so cold and the humidity so high, the bed sheets felt as if someone had peed in it. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!
We made reservations for one night's stay 4-1/2 months in advance. I suppose I should have known something was awry when contacting Gay (B&B owner) one week in advance for confirmation. She had forgotten to put us on her calendar and was bumping us up to the more expensive cottage at the lower rate for the room we had reserved at the main house. Sounds great, right!
